What this integration does

The Notion integration creates a page in a chosen database directly from an error's detail screen in DockRay - no copying the message, the failing location or the stack trace by hand. Creating the page saves a permanent link: one DockRay error to one Notion page. Once the page moves into the Complete status group, DockRay marks the error as resolved on its own. Reading is periodic: the thor:sync-notion command checks linked pages every five minutes - Notion only offers webhooks to public apps, and a client's internal integration is not one.

What you need on the Notion side

permission to create integrations in the Notion workspace,
a database that should receive the tickets,
a moment to share that database with the newly created integration - the step that is easiest to forget, and without which the integration sees nothing.

Unlike Jira, there is no instance address or e-mail here - Notion has a single API under a fixed address, authenticated by the integration token alone.

Creating the integration and copying the token

In Notion's integration settings (workspace level) create a new internal integration and copy the generated token. The token stays visible in Notion at all times, but in DockRay - like any other secret of this kind - it is encrypted and never comes back to the form once saved.

A Notion integration sees no database by default - that is not a DockRay limitation, it is how Notion works: access has to be granted by hand. Open the database you want to connect, and under Connections add the integration you created earlier. Only after that step does the database show up in the DockRay list.

Account-level and project-level connection

In the DockRay panel go to Settings → Notion and paste the integration token - this connection serves every project on the account that has no token of its own. In Project settings → Notion, pick the database that should receive tickets, a default assignee and an optional starting status. Property names in the database do not matter here - DockRay recognises fields by their type (title, people, status), not by whatever name someone typed in Notion.

The first test

Create a Notion page from any existing error in a test project. In Notion, check that the page landed in the right database, with a title, a diagnostic description and a link to the DockRay panel. The error in DockRay should now show a link to the created page.
