Blocksy Companion <= 2.1.46 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Upload via 'blc-review-images[]' Parameter

  • Disclosed: 01.07.2026
  • Updated: 12.10.2026 17:19

The Blocksy Companion plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file upload in all versions up to and including 2.1.46 via the save_attachments function. This issue occurs because the Custom Fonts extension registers a wp_check_filetype_and_ext filter that checks whether filenames contain .woff2 or .ttf using strpos() rather than verifying the final extension via PATHINFO_EXTENSION. Consequently, double-extension filenames such as shell.woff2.php pass MIME validation and are handled as permitted font files. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to upload executable files, potentially leading to remote code execution.

This vulnerability is exploitable only when the premium version (blocksy-companion-pro) is installed with both the WooCommerce Extra (Advanced Reviews) and Custom Fonts extensions active; the free blocksy-companion plugin does not contain the vulnerable code paths. CVE-2026-58480 is a duplicate of this vulnerability identifier.
